# Install on Replit

> Add the tag to the HTML your Replit app serves, then deploy and point your own domain at it.

What you edit on Replit depends on what the app serves, but the rule is the same: the tag goes in the head of the HTML that reaches the browser.

## Where it goes

- A static or Vite app: `index.html`.
- Flask or Django: the base template under `templates/`.
- Express with a view engine: the layout view; serving static files means `public/index.html`.

## Confirm it works

Deploy, open the deployed site, and check **Live**. View source if nothing arrives: the tag must be in the HTML the server sends, not added by a script afterwards.

## Development hosts are not your domain

The Replit workspace preview and a `replit.app` deployment both serve from Replit’s domains, so their beacons are dropped and your development does not touch your numbers. Attach your own domain to the deployment and set `data-domain` to it, or add the Replit host under **Site settings › General › Additional domains** if you want that traffic counted.
