Statsy is a Fathom Analytics alternative for people who need more than a traffic count. Fathom is deliberately simple: one screen, no cookie banner, a flat price that covers at least 50 sites. Statsy keeps the simple dashboard and adds revenue from Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar and Razorpay webhooks, session replays, heatmaps and funnels.

## Statsy at a glance

- **What it is:** Web analytics with revenue attribution, session replays, heatmaps, funnels and a live visitor globe
- **Price:** Growth from $9 a month at 10k events, up to 5 websites; Scale from $19 with unlimited websites
- **Free trial:** 14 days with every feature on. A card is required, and you can cancel at any time.
- **Where revenue comes from:** Signed payment webhooks and an authenticated Payment API, never amounts reported by the browser
- **Cookieless:** No cookie banner needed in cookieless mode; Auto mode applies it to EU, EEA, UK and Swiss visitors
- **Not included:** Uptime monitoring, an EU-isolated data option and Fathom’s 50-site flat pricing

## What is the difference between Statsy and Fathom?

Fathom answers “how many people visited, and from where?” on one uncluttered screen. Statsy answers “which of them paid, and what brought them?”. It records the same traffic, then matches each payment from your provider’s signed webhook to the visitor and credits the touches before it.

Fathom’s ecommerce documentation describes sending a value in cents along with an event completion, so the number comes from your own page code. That works, and it is simple. It also means you own the plumbing: firing the event at the right moment, keeping the amount in step with discounts and tax, and handling refunds and subscription renewals yourself.

Statsy takes a different route. Revenue arrives from the payment provider, signed, after the money moved. One-time payments, renewals and refunds all land the same way, each stored once per provider payment id so retries do not double count.

## What does Statsy add on top of traffic analytics?

Five attribution models over real payments, session replays you can filter to sessions that paid, click and scroll heatmaps with a revenue view, funnels, goals, visitor journeys, a live globe with a public share page, and a Posts breakdown that names the exact X or LinkedIn post behind a visit.

- **Revenue by channel.** Every sale is credited to the post, search, referrer and campaign that brought the buyer, under last touch, first touch, linear, time decay or position based models. See [how attribution works](https://statsy.co/marketing-attribution-software).
- **Replays and heatmaps.** Form inputs are masked in the browser; replays are kept 90 days and heatmap totals up to 400 days.
- **Post-level attribution.** X and LinkedIn wrap links in `t.co` and `lnkd.in` short codes, so Statsy can tell one post from another and report visits, sign-ups and revenue per post.
- **Alerts and reports.** Slack, Discord and email alerts, a weekly digest, and public, password-protected or embeddable dashboards.

## What does Fathom do better than Statsy?

Fathom is cheaper per site once you run many of them, and its simplicity is a real feature rather than a gap. Its pricing page lists at least 50 sites on every plan, extra packs of 50 for $10 a month, and full analytics history for as long as you subscribe.

Checked September 2026 on [usefathom.com/pricing](https://usefathom.com/pricing): plans begin at $15 a month for up to 100,000 monthly pageviews and rise to $200 a month for up to 10 million, with a 7-day free trial and two months free on a yearly plan. Fathom also states that no cookie banners are required.

If you run an agency with dozens of small client sites, that flat site allowance is hard to beat. Statsy’s Growth plan covers up to 5 websites and Scale covers an unlimited number, but both are priced by total monthly events across all of them.

## How do Statsy and Fathom compare side by side?

The table below uses each vendor’s own pages as of September 2026. The short version: Fathom is a focused traffic tool priced by pageviews with a generous site allowance, and Statsy is a revenue tool priced by events that also records replays, heatmaps and funnels.

| | Statsy | Fathom Analytics |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Entry price | Growth $9 a month at 10k monthly events; Scale $19 | $15 a month for up to 100,000 monthly pageviews |
| Top listed tier | Growth $179 a month at 10M events | $200 a month for up to 10 million pageviews; custom above 25 million |
| Websites | 5 on Growth, unlimited on Scale | “At least 50 sites”, with packs of 50 more for $10 a month |
| Free trial | 14 days, card required | 7-day free trial |
| Revenue | Signed webhooks from Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar and Razorpay, plus a Payment API | A value in cents sent with each event completion |
| Session replays and heatmaps | Both included on every plan | Not listed |
| Funnels and journeys | Included on every plan | Not listed |
| Cookie banner | Not needed in cookieless mode | “No cookie banners required” |
| History | Raw events and sessions 90 days; aggregates kept longer | “Full analytics history while subscribed” |

Fathom figures checked September 2026 on its [pricing page](https://usefathom.com/pricing) and its [ecommerce conversions documentation](https://usefathom.com/docs/events/ecommerce-conversions). Statsy prices come from our [pricing page](https://statsy.co/pricing). Note that pageviews and events are not the same unit: a Statsy event is a pageview, a goal completion or a recorded payment.

## How do you move from Fathom to Statsy?

Add the Statsy script beside the Fathom one and leave both running for a week or two. Connect your payment provider, compare the visitor numbers, then drop whichever tag you no longer need. Statsy does not interfere with Fathom or any other analytics script.

1. Add the Statsy script, about 3 KB gzipped, loaded with defer, to every page.
2. Connect Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar or Razorpay: paste the webhook URL into the provider, paste its signing secret back.
3. Recreate your Fathom goals as Statsy goals. Both are counted per visitor, so the numbers should be close.
4. Turn on replays and heatmaps if you want them; both are off until you switch them on.
5. After a week, compare. Keep one tool, or keep both.

## When is Fathom still the better choice?

Stay on Fathom when you run many small sites, when nobody on the team wants another dashboard to learn, or when you simply do not sell anything online. Fathom is a careful, well-run product, and buying a revenue tool for a site with no revenue is a waste.

- You manage dozens of client sites and the per-site allowance decides the bill.
- You want the shortest possible dashboard and no extra features to ignore.
- You need years of history kept inside the analytics product itself.
- Your payments run through a checkout that cannot send a webhook or call the Statsy Payment API.

## Fathom alternative FAQ

### Does Statsy need a cookie banner like Google Analytics does?

Not in cookieless mode, which stores nothing in the browser. Auto mode, the default, applies cookieless counting to EU, EEA, UK and Swiss visitors and to any browser sending Global Privacy Control.

### Is Statsy more expensive than Fathom?

It depends on the shape of your traffic. Statsy Growth starts at $9 a month at 10,000 monthly events; Fathom starts at $15 a month for up to 100,000 pageviews but covers at least 50 sites on every plan.

### Can I track revenue without writing any code?

Usually, yes. Hosted checkout links from the five supported providers carry the visitor identifier automatically, so connecting the webhook is the only step. Checkouts created on your own server need one extra field.

### Does Statsy record what visitors type into forms?

No. Every form input is masked in the browser before anything is sent. Other text on the page is recorded, so avoid enabling replays on pages that display sensitive personal information.

### Can I run Fathom and Statsy at the same time?

Yes. Neither script interferes with the other, and running both while you compare numbers is the sensible way to switch. Remove whichever tag you stop using once you trust the figures.
