The dashboard
A tour of the overview page: the headline numbers, the chart, the breakdown cards, the period selector, compare and filters.
The overview is the page you land on for a site, and nearly everything else in Statsy is reachable from it. It has three parts: Performance at the top, Trend in the middle, and Where it comes from below.
Performance
Four big numbers, each one clickable: Visitors, Revenue, Conversion rate and Customers. Clicking one plots it on the chart underneath. Under them sit four more, for reference rather than charting: Pageviews, Bounce rate, Avg session and Revenue per visitor.
Every one of them carries a change against the previous period of the same length — "vs the previous 7 days" — whether or not you have turned on compare. A number with nothing to compare against says so rather than pretending.
Trend
The chart draws one metric over the period. The metric picker offers visitors, pageviews, sessions, conversions, revenue and customers; the granularity toggle offers whichever buckets make sense for the period, from hours on a single day up to months across a year.
Click any point on the chart to add a note there — a deploy, a launch, a price change — so next month's spike comes with its own explanation. See Filters and segments.
Note. Raw events are kept for 90 days. Look further back than that and the chart is served from daily rollups instead, which the page tells you when it happens.
The period selector
Presets are Now (the last 30 minutes), last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days and 12 months, plus a custom range with from and to dates. Seven days is the default.
The same popover holds Compare to previous. Switch it on and the chart draws the previous period as a second line, and the trigger button reads "vs prev" so you always know which mode you are in. The period, the filters and the segment all live in the URL, so a dashboard you are looking at is a link you can send.
Where it comes from
Seven cards, each with its own tabs:
| Card | Tabs |
|---|---|
| Channels | Channel |
| Referrers | Referrer, and Posts |
| UTM | Source, Medium, Campaign |
| Pages | All, Entry, Exit |
| Locations | Country, Region, City |
| Devices | Device, Browser, OS |
| Goals | Goal |
Each card shows its top eight rows and can be switched between visitors, conversions and revenue. Sorting the pages card by revenue rather than visitors is usually a short, useful surprise: the page that gets the most traffic is rarely the page that makes the most money.
View all opens the full list, fifty rows at a time. Export CSV downloads it — see CSV export. On a page row, the row menu offers Make this a goal, which opens the goal dialog already filled in.
Filtering
Click any row and the whole dashboard filters to it — every number, the chart and every other card. Stack them: organic search, from Germany, on mobile. The Filter button in the top bar adds one by hand when there is no row to click, and a stack you keep rebuilding can be saved as a segment.
Tip.
⌘K(orCtrl+K, or just/) opens the command menu from anywhere, which is the quickest way between sites and pages.
